All Six Seniors Score in Women’s Lacrosse’s Senior Day Rout of Mt. St. Vince

Patchogue, NY| All six graduating seniors tallied goals as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's lacrosse team picked up an 18-3 Senior Day victory over Skyline Conference rival Mount Saint Vincent (4-9, 0-7 Skyline) on Saturday afternoon.

The win ensures the Golden Eagles, 7-8 overall and 5-2 in Skyline play, enter the conference championship tournament as the third seed. SJC will meet second-seeded Farmingdale in the semifinal on Wednesday.

Senior Kristin Carroll led all players with four goals on six shots. Fellow classmen Melanie Cervone, Samantha Caruso, Chelsea Tarazona and Anisha Scott all scored once and Ally Johnston found the back of the net twice.

Junior Nicole Stoppelli scored three times and dished out six assists for a career-best nine points. The midfielder's first goal of the afternoon was the 100th over her career.

Carroll and Stoppelli combined for 11 draw controls, seven ground balls and three caused turnovers.

One-way traffic in the first half resulted in a 13-goal advantage (15-2) at the break for the hosts, who went on to tally three more times in the second to secure the 18-3 win.

Junior goalkeeper Lindsay Ramos (7-8) faced only five shots and made two saves. Mount Saint Vincent's Allyson Weakliem made 13 saves on 31 shots.

In total, SJC generated 37 shots to the Dolphins' nine. The hosts also held advantages in draw controls (14-8), ground balls (27-11) and clears (17-11).

The Golden Eagles will travel to Farmingdale on Wednesday for their semifinal match-up with the Rams. Time for the contest has not yet been announced.
