Men’s Basketball Topples Pratt, 74-52

Brooklyn, NY| Jake Gaudiello scored a game-best 19 points to lead the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team past the Pratt Institute, 74-52, on Saturday afternoon.

The win sees the Golden Eagles improve to 2-4 overall on the year as the Cannoneers drop to 2-6.

Gaudiello's 19 points came via 6-for-14 shooting from the field and 3-for-8 shooting from three. The sophomore was also credited with game-high totals in assists (6) and steals (5).

Sophomore Spencer Malloy went for 16 points (6-for-12 FG) and eight rebounds, and senior Kevin O'Halloran shot 3-for-7 from three and contributed nine points from the bench.

Pratt was paced by Cameron Hatcher, who scored 13 points on 5-for-17 shooting.

After falling behind 4-3 early, SJC used a 12-3 run to go ahead 15-7 at 13:58 and controlled the afternoon's proceedings from there. 

The Golden Eagles took a 37-19 lead into the break and went on to lead by as many as 24 points (00:26) en route to a 22-point victory.

SJC shot better from the field (44.6% to 36.8%), held an edge in rebounding (41-32), and outscored the Cannoneers from the bench (26-18). 

The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, December 1, when they host St. Joseph's College (Brkln) for a Skyline Conference contest at 7:30 pm.
