Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team was edged, 71-60, by Skyline Conference rival Farmingdale State in the Danzi Center on Wednesday evening.

The loss snaps the Golden Eagles's six-game winning streak and sees them slip to 12-8 overall and 8-5 in Skyline play. The Rams improve to 15-10 and 11-2.

SJC was led in by sophomore Spencer Malloy, who was 6-for-10 from the field and had 12 points in the loss. Freshman Alec Tabada added 10 points and a team high eight rebounds.

Sophomore Timothy Hirdt also scored in double digits with 10 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the bench.

The Rams took an early 16-9 lead (11:42), but SJC managed to cut away at that lead to tie the game twice in the first half. A buzzer-beating shot from Aaron Davis of the Rams gave Farmingdale a 34-30 lead over St. Joseph's at half.

An 8-0 run for the Rams starting at 16:12 in the second half gave them their first double digit lead of the game. The Golden Eagles fought back and brought the contest to within as few as six points, but weren't able to fully overcome the early deficit.

SJC was outshot by the Rams 52% to 43.3% from the field and 39.5% to 30% on three point field goals.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, February 12, when they visit #15 Yeshiva University for a Skyline Conference contest at 8:30 pm.
