Malloy Collects All-Met Honors
New York, NY| Sophomore Spencer Malloy of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team earned All-Met Third-Team Honors when the Met Basketball Writers Association released its 2022 end-of-season awards on Monday morning.
Malloy, who previously collected D3Hoops.com All-Region Third-Team and Skyline All-Conference First-Team accolades, becomes the first Golden Eagles since Andy Laurent in 2016-17 to earn All-Met honors.
Malloy, a three-time Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week, finished ninth in the conference in scoring (15.2 PPG) and fifth in rebounding (8.0 RPG). Additionally, he was third in field goal percentage (54.9%).
The center scored 15+ points in 11 games this season and tallied a season-high 28 points in a loss to Hunter on November 23.
Malloy was one of four student-athletes from Skyline Conference institutions to earn All-Met Honors, joining the Yeshiva duo of Ryan Turrell and Gabriel Leifer, and Mt. St. Vincent's Dan Porcic.
