Purchase, NY|  Christina Gagliardi scored twice as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team earned its first conference victory taking down Purchase College, 4-0, on Monday night in Purchase, NY. With the victory, the Golden Eagles improve to 3-3 (1-0 Skyline) on the year as the Panthers fall to 1-4 (1-1 Skyline).

In a first half that saw the guests outshoot the hosts 9-4, the Golden Eagles notched the first goal of the match when Gagliardi, streaking down the right, opened the scoring in the 15th minute.

Just over four minutes later, Kristin Carroll went one-on-one with the Purchase keeper and banged it home to double the lead (2-0).

In the 32nd minute, Jessica Passabile played a through ball to Gagliardi, who slotted it past the diving goalkeeper for her ninth goal of the season to give the Golden Eagles the 3-0 lead before heading into halftime.

SJC continued to control the tempo of a one-sided affair and scored the game's final goal in the 80th minute courtesy of a Jaclyn O'Shaughnessy corner that bended its way into the back of the net for the 4-0 victory.

The Golden Eagles maintained the advantage in shots by a 16-8 margin. Juliana Cintron-Leonardo made two saves on the night while Purchase's Amber Yarter collected four.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, September 20, when they hit the road to face non-conference rival William Paterson at 7:00 PM. Live video and stats will be available here.
