Patchogue, NY| Sophomore Kristin Carroll bagged the game-winner in the 68th minute as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory at home vs. St. Joseph's (Bklyn) in Skyline Conference action on Wednesday Night.

With the win the Golden Eagles improve to 5-4 on the year and 2-0 in Skyline play as the Bears fall to 4-3 (0-1).

Despite outshooting the hosts 20-2 in the first half, SJC failed to convert and entered halftime deadlocked in a scoreless tie.

The breakthrough would come 23 minutes after the restart when junior Leah Vazquez played a through ball just outside the box where a waiting Carroll would bang home her fourth goal of the season.

The Golden Eagles continued to apply pressure and doubled their goal total in the 81st minute when Shannon Condron delivered a through ball to a streaking Mackenzie Nyitray, who rifled into the back of the net for her fourth goal of the season.

Sophomore Karissa Rutlgliano (1-0) made her start of the season and was credited with a save in her first-career victory. SJC-Bklyn's Lauren Quesada made 18 saves.

In the end, SJC severely outshot the Bears by a 29-4 margin and won eight corners compared to SJC's (Brklyn) 3.

The Golden Eagles continue Skyline Conference play on Tuesday, October 3 when they host Old Westbury at 4:00 pm. Live video and stats will be available here.
