Newburgh, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team saw its 2017 campaign come to an end on Wednesday evening with a penalty-kick defeat to top-seed Mount St. Mary College in the Skyline Conference semifinal round.

After a scoreless regulation, the sides failed to find a winner through two overtime periods and progressed to a penalty shootout, where the Knights earned a 3-2 victory.

Despite being outshot 23-6 in the match, the Golden Eagles survived 110 minutes without conceding a goal to the conference's top team.

After Kristin Carroll and Samantha Caruso converted on their penalty kick attempts, three-straight misses off the feet of Karissa Rutigliano, Shannon Condron and Cristina Gagliardi saw the hosts to victory.

Keeper Juliana Cintron-Leonardo made 11 saves and finishes the season with an 8-6-1 overall record.

Mt. St. Mary's Mary Riley made three saves.
