Farmingdale, NY| Sophomore Christina Gagliardi and senior Kristin Carroll both tallied as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team was defeated by Farmingdale State, 8-2, in a Skyline Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

The loss sends the Golden Eagles to 8-6 overall on the year and 4-2 in conference play. The Rams, now 8-5 overall and 6-0 in conference, are tied for first place in the Skyline standings.

Farmingdale scored three goals in the match's opening 30 minutes, but less than one minute later Gagliardi brought one back for the guests when she forced a turnover and finished from the top of the box.

Three more goals in the first half and a mark in the 56th minute saw the Rams pull ahead 7-1, but it was Kristin Carroll's unassisted tally in the 69th minute that snapped the Farmingdale run.

The match's final goal came off the foot of Allison Khare in the 88th minute and clinched the guests' 8-2 victory.

Sophomore Karissa Rutigliano started between the pipes for the Golden Eagles and made three saves on nine shots. Sophomore Juliana Cintron-Leonardo made two saves in 45 minutes of relief action.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, October 17 when they host Skyline Conference rival Mount St. Vincent at Danzi Stadium at 7:00 pm. Live video and stats for the match will be available here.
