Patchogue, NY| Senior Kristin Carroll tallied two goals for four points as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team took down Lehman College, 5-1, on Saturday evening at Danzi Stadium. With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 4-4 on the year as the Lightning slide to 3-5-1.

SJC opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Shannon Condron played a through ball to Mackenzie Nyitray, who beat the keeper and slotted it home for the 1-0 lead. The Golden Eagles doubled their lead three minutes later after Carly Credidio intercepted a ball in the midfield and fired a strike past the diving Lehman goalkeeper for the 2-0 advantage.

Lehman cut its deficit in half at the 24th minute courtesy of a Daisy Gomez pass to Pamela Sanchez, who chipped it over the Juliana Cintron-Leonardo's head to put the game within reach, 2-1.

After a quiet couple of minutes, SJC answered back in the 38th minute when Alexandra Ehrhart delivered a pass to Christina Gagliardi, who slotted the ball into the lower right corner for her 10th goal of the season.

Up 3-1 in the second half, Carroll gave the Golden Eagles a three-goal lead in the 49th minute when Gagliardi found Carrol, who made a run to beat two Lehman defenders and scored.

Continuing to pressure Lehman's defense, SJC found an insurance goal in the 54th minute when Carroll doubled her goal total after Gagliardi's shot was rebounded to Carroll's feet and banged it home to give the hosts' a four-goal advantage (5-1), which they would carry to the final buzzer.

SJC generated 17 shots to Lehman's six in the match and held the advantage in corners, 4-1. Karissa Rutigliano was credited with four saves, while Lehman's goalkeeper, Rebecca Gritz tallied five.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, September 27 when they host sister-school St. Joseph's College (Bklyn) for a 7:00 PM, East vs. West derby. Live video and stats will be available here.
