Iavarone and Mazza Land on Skyline Weekly Honor Rolls

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday morning, and amongst the winners were junior Andrea Iavarone of the women's basketball team and graduate student Kim Mazza of the women's swimming team who both appeared on Weekly Honor Rolls for their respective sports.

Andrea Iavarone (Jr.) – Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

The forward averaged 13.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in two games last week as the women's basketball team suffered a pair of defeats to Mt. St. Vincent and Farmingdale State. On Tuesday vs. the Dolphins the Miller Place, NY native tallied a team-best 22 points and collected nine rebounds. At home vs. the Rams on Saturday Iavarone grabbed a season-best 18 rebounds but was limited to just five points. As of Monday afternoon Iavarone was fourth in the conference in scoring (16.9 PPG) and third in rebounding (12.0 RPG).

Kim Mazza (Gr.) – Women's Swimming Weekly Honor Roll

During a week that saw the Golden Eagles collect a pair of Skyline Conference victories (2-1), Mazza collected four first-place finishes through six events. In a double-duel with Old Westbury and USMMA on Saturday the Bohemia, NY native earned a first-place finish in the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 12:24.98. On Saturday vs. Mt. St. Vincent Mazza turned in three first-place finishes including in the 200 yard freestyle relay. Mazza, along with Gabrielle Zollo, Samantha Mullman and Aileen Baker, established a new program-best record of 1:50.46 in the event.
