Iavarone and Laurent Land on Skyline Weekly Honor Rolls

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Tuesday morning, and amongst the winners were junior Andrea Iavarone of the women's basketball team and senior Andy Laurent of the men's basketball team who both appeared on Weekly Honor Rolls for their respective sports.
Andrea Iavarone (Jr.) – Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll
Last Tuesday Iavarone sank two free throws in the final seconds of regulation to lift the women's basketball team to a 56-55 victory over the United States Merchant Marine Academy. The forward dropped a game-high 20 points, contributed on the boards with 15 rebounds and dished out two assists in the contest. The Miller Place, NY native is currently 10th in the nation in double-doubles (11), 10th in offensive rebounds-per-game (6.0), 16th in rebounds-per-game (12.3) and leads the conference in scoring (19.2).
Andy Laurent (Sr.) – Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll
In two games last week Laurent averaged 18 points, six rebounds and four assists-per-game as the men's basketball picked up a pair of Skyline Conference victories. In a 64-59 win over Merchant Marine on the road on Tuesday the Amityville, NY native went for a team-high 22 points on 7-13 shooting from the field. In a home victory over Maritime on Friday evening Laurent tallied 14 points, collected eight rebounds and dished out four assists. As of Tuesday morning the guard was second on the team and ninth in the conference in points-per-game (15.3).
