New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and amongst the winners were senior Erin MacDonell and freshman Meagan Haviland of the women's cross country team, who were named Runner and Rookie of the Week, respectively. Additionally, sophomores Rayneri Ruiz and Christina Gagliardi appeared on Weekly Honor Rolls for their respective sports.

Erin MacDonell (Sr.) – Women's Cross Country

For MacDonell, it's her second Runner of the Week honor in as many weeks after turning in her second first-place finish of the season over the weekend. The Sayville, NY native posted a 6k time of 23:48.79, finishing 28 seconds before any other competitor, as the women's cross country team took second out of 14 participating teams at Saturday's Purchase College Invitational. The defending Skyline Conference Runner of the Year, MacDonell is the conference's Runner of the Week for the sixth time in her career.

Meagan Haviland (Fr.) – Women's Cross Country

Haviland finished seventh with a 6k time of 25:27.23 and was the highest-placing freshman at the Purchase College Invitational on Saturday. The Sound Beach, NY native was SJC's second-best finisher in an outing that saw the Golden Eagles take second place. Last week, Haviland took fourth place at the SJC Friends and Alumni Meet in her first competitive race.

Rayneri Ruiz (So.) – Men's Soccer

In two appearances last week, Ruiz collected three goals and one assist for seven points. In a 5-3 loss to Western Connecticut State on September 5, Ruiz went for two goals in his first-career multi-goal game and added an assist for five points. Ruiz would go on to score SJC's only goal in a 2-1 loss to Kean on September 10. As of Monday afternoon, Ruiz had either scored or assisted on all of the Golden Eagles' five goals in 2017.

Christina Gagliardi (So.) – Women's Soccer

Gagliardi broke the women's soccer program's single-game points and goals records with a 12-point, five-goal performance in an 8-1 win over Brooklyn College on September 9. The forward netted her first career hat trick in the 29th minute and continued her scoring streak later in the first half, slotting home two more goals in the 32nd and 35th minutes. The Ronkonkoma, NY native, now with five goals on the season, leads the team in scoring.
