SJC Hall of Fame Nominations Open Through April 20

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) athletic department is pleased to announce that it is accepting nominations for the sixth class of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles Hall of Fame now until April 20.

The hall of fame was established in 2008 to honor former athletes, coaches and friends of St. Joseph's College. Those honored have contributed significantly to the athletics program and continue to exemplify the principles of sportsmanship and integrity through their contributions and achievements in their respective communities and professions. Individuals and entire teams are eligible for induction. The hall of fame induction ceremony is held bi-annually in the fall. Members of the hall of fame will have their name and photo displayed on a plaque in the Golden Eagles Hall of Fame location on the Long Island Campus.

Criteria for being considered eligible for selection into the Golden Eagle Hall of Fame include the following:

Individuals: Recipient of at least one letter award; eight years since completion of their eligibility for athletic eligibility.

Teams: Five years since ALL team members have completed their eligibility for athletic participation.

Coaches: Immediately eligible upon retiring from St. Joseph's College, as long as they are no longer working in the respective field; five full academic years after completing his or her career at SJC if still working in respective field.

Administrators and Staff: Immediately eligible upon retiring from St. Joseph's College, as long as they are no longer working in the respective field; five full academic years after completing his or her career at SJC if still working in the respective field.

Meritorious: No prescribed waiting period.

The 2018 induction ceremony will take place on Friday, October 5.
