SJC Student-Athletes Boast 3.40 Fall Average GPA

Patchogue, NY| Three hundred and seven St. Joseph's College (L.I.) student-athletes across 20 NCAA Division III athletic programs produced a department-wide grade point average of 3.40 during the fall 2017 semester.

Nineteen of the institution's 20 teams posted GPA's over a 3.00. Men's cross country performed best in the classroom with a 3.7980 average fall GPA, while women's track and field (3.7050) and women's cross country (3.6300) rounded out the top three.

In-season fall teams women's soccer (3.0410), men's soccer (3.1240), women's volleyball (3.4760), men's golf (3.1260) and women's tennis (3.4150) all recorded GPA's over a 3.00, as did women's basketball (3.2310), women's swimming (3.5490) and men's track and field (3.6200).

The strong academic performance in the fall sees the department's overall cumulative GPA average rise to 3.37.
