52 SJC Student-Athletes Appear on Skyline Conference’s Fall 2017 Academic Honor Roll
New York, NY| A total of 52 St. Joseph's College (L.I.) student-athletes were named to the Skyline Conference's 2017 Fall Academic Honor Roll, as announced by Commissioner Linda Bruno on Friday afternoon. Of the 11 member institutions, St. Joseph's was second in total honorees, trailing only Yeshiva University (75).
The Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who earned a 3.3-grade point average while competing in men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's golf, women's tennis and women's volleyball during the fall semester of the 2017-18 academic year. In total, 447 student-athletes were honored throughout the conference.
All seven Skyline-sponsored SJC fall sports programs received selections, with women's cross country (13) garnering the most. Women's volleyball and men's soccer both placed nine honorees.
"The Skyline Conference student-athletes continue to shine in the classroom and their sports," said Bruno. "Their balance speaks volumes to their character, while their exploits reflect the Division III philosophy statement and embody what the student-athlete experience should be."
