Curaro and Iavarone Land on Skyline Weekly Honor Rolls

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday evening, and amongst the winners were sophomore Paul Curaro (men's volleyball) and senior Andrea Iavarone (women's basketball) who both appeared on Weekly Honor Rolls for their respective sports.

Paul Curaro (So.) - Men's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

Curaro totaled 25 kills across three matches last week as the men's team posted a 1-2 record. In a defeat to #1 Springfield on Saturday, the outside hitter put down a team-high nine kills. Curaro duplicated his kill output later in the afternoon in a 3-1 loss to #14 Vassar. In Sunday's 3-0 sweep of John Jay, the Holbrook, NY native hit .300 and recorded seven kills in addition to collecting a game-high eight digs. Curaro is currently SJC's leader in total kills (75) and kills-per-set (3.00).

Andrea Iavarone (Sr.) - Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

For the third time this season and the 19th time in her career, Iavarone lands on the conference's Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 24.7 points and 15.3 rebounds-per-game last week. Iavarone posted a double-double in all three of SJC's matches, extending her season double-double total to 14. In an 85-29 dismantling of Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday, the senior went for 27 points, 14 rebounds, three blocks and three steals. After a 22 point, 16 rebound performance in a loss to Mount St. Vincent on Thursday, the Miller Place, NY native went for 25 points, 16 boards and three blocks in a defeat at Purchase on Saturday. As of Tuesday morning, Iavarone led the conference in scoring (20.4 PPG) and rebounding (15.6 RPG) and ranked 23rd and fourth in the nation, respectively, in the same categories.
