Lopez, Dickson and Vasquez Earn Skyline Weekly Honors

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and amongst the winners were junior Matt Lopez (men's cross country), who was named Runner of the Week, and sophomores Gianna Dickson (women's cross country) and Yojaira Vasquez (women's soccer), who earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Additionally, junior Abbey Curcio appeared on the Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll.

Matt Lopez (Jr.) – Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Lopez finished second at Saturday's Purchase Invitational with an 8k time of 27:31.4. SJC finished fifth in a field of five competing teams.

Gianna Dickson (So.) – Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week
Dickson powered SJC to a first-place finish with an individual victory of her own at Saturday's Purchase Invitational. The sophomore posted a 6k time of 21:24.4.

Yojaira Vasquez (So.) – Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Vasquez recorded her first goal as a Golden Eagle in the 25th minute of an 11-0 win over Brooklyn College on September 8. The sophomore went on to score a hat trick, converting on each shot she took.

Abbey Curcio (Jr.) – Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll
Led the Golden Eagles with seven points on three goals and an assist over two wins. The junior provided a goal and an assist in an 11-0 win over Brooklyn College on September 8 before tallying both goals in the 2-1 win over NJCU on September 12.
