Five SJLI Spring Sports Qualify for Skyline Playoffs

Patchogue, NY| Five of the St. Joseph's University (L.I.) spring sports qualified for Skyline Conference playoffs set to kick off on Tuesday, May 3.

The baseball team finished atop the conference standings with a 15-5 record and is set to host the four-team, double-elimination championship tournament May 6-8. Farmingdale State and the winners of the two first-round games on Wednesday will round out the field of four.

Softball finished fourth with an 11-7 Skyline mark and will host St. Joseph's University (Brkln) in a first-round match-up on May 3 at 5:00 pm. The winning team advances to the four-team, double-elimination tournament at Farmingdale State May 5-7.

Women's lacrosse (3-4 Skyline) captured the fifth seed and visits Manhattanville for the right to advance to the semifinals.

The men's lacrosse team (4-3 Skyline) is the fourth seed in a four-team playoff field and faces regular-season champion SUNY Maritime in the semis on Wednesday in Throggs Neck.

Men's tennis qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2014 going 2-5 in conference play. They are the sixth seed and face third-seeded Farmingdale on the road on Tuesday.
