New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and amongst the winners were junior Abbey Curcio (women's soccer) and freshman Gianna Dickson (women's cross country) who were named Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Additionally, junior Matt Lopez (men's cross country) and senior Caleigh Capek (women's cross country) appeared on Weekly Honor Rolls.
Abbey Curcio (Jr.) – Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Curcio recorded a hat trick and added an assist in the women's soccer team's only game of the week, a 12-1 win at Yeshiva on Sunday. The midfielder had a game-best nine shots and win the award for the second week in a row.
Gianna Dickson (Fr.) – Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week
Finished 10th at the 21st Annual Golden Eagle Invitational on Sunday afternoon with a 5k time of 20:41.70. Dickson was the third-best Skyline Conference runner, fourth-best Division III runner, and third-best freshman runner. SJC placed second in a field of 20.
Caleigh Capek (Sr.) – Women's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll
The senior took ninth place at the Golden Eagle Invitational on Sunday with a 5k time of 20:39.91. Last week's Runner of the Week, Capek was the second-best Skyline runner and the third-best Division III performer. SJC finished second out of 20 competing teams.
Matt Lopez (Jr.) – Men's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll
Lopez was the third-place finisher in the 8k race of the Golden Eagle Invitational on Sunday. The junior posted a time of 26:10.46 and finished less than six seconds off of first place. Lopez was the event's second-best Skyline and Division III runner. SJC placed 11th out of 22 teams.
