The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) softball team dropped a pair of Skyline Conference contests at Farmingdale State College on Sunday afternoon.

Game One SJLI 3, Farmingdale 4:

How it happened:
  • St. Joseph's was first to score when Salvatto singled to lead off the top of the second and came in on a two-single through the left side by Bazarewski

  • The Rams strung together three hits including an RBI double by Samantha Stolfi to produce two runs taking a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third

  • The Golden Eagles regained the lead in the top of the fourth when Kiernan and Cailyn Rodriguez knocked in runs and moved the score to 3-2

  • A two-RBI double by FSC's Christina Rodriguez in the bottom of the sixth put the Rams ahead 4-3 before Allie Stanya pitched around a leadoff single in the seventh for the win

Notes:
  • FSC's Stanya earned the win allowing three runs on six hits with two strikeouts in a complete game effort

  • SJLI's Ruocchio was tagged with the loss allowing four runs on nine hits with a strikeout

Game two SJLI 0, Farmingdale 9
How it happened:
  • The Rams opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first

  • After adding a run in the third, Farmingdale sent 11 Rams to the plate for six runs on five hits leaving just one on base to go ahead 9-0

  • The Golden Eagles were retired in order in the top of the fourth before Ava Shorr pitched around a two-out error in the top of the fifth 

Notes:
  • FSC's Shorr tossed a no-hitter surrendering just one walk with three strikeouts

  • SJLI's Ruocchio was tagged with the loss allowing six runs on six hits in 3.2 innings in the circle

Next up, the Golden Eagles continue Skyline Conference play when they host St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn on Saturday, April 29 at 2:00 pm.
