Women's Volleyball Drops Non-Conference Decision to Ramapo

Mahwah, NJ| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match, 3-0, to Ramapo College Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles slide to 1-6 on the season as the Roadrunners improve to an unbeaten 3-0.

Ramapo came out to an early match lead with a 25-20 win in set one. The Roadrunners went on to complete the sweep with 25-21 and 25-17 wins in the second and third sets.

Sophomore Melanie O'Hoppe led the Golden Eagles with 10 kills on the day while hitting at a .305 clip. Sophomore Amanda Goldestein pitched in with nine kills. Junior Kaitlin Williams rounded out the top scorers with seven kills and 16 digs.

Junior setter Brionna Silva dished out a game-high 35 assists with senior libero Danielle Senecal finishing with 17 digs and defensive specialist Veronica Meissmer collecting 10 digs.

Stephanie Ross led the Roadrunners with 10 kills with Morgan Ridgway adding eight kills. Setters Kate Shirkey and Sara Correa tossed 15 and 14 assists, respectively, and Karina Ameda recorded 15 digs.

The Golden Eagles return to action when they travel to Salve Regina University on Saturday, September 21. SJC will face Plymouth St. at 1:00 pm before taking on the Seahawks at 3:00 PM.
