Women's Volleyball Sweeps Maritime, 3-0

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball earned a 3-0 sweep over SUNY Maritime at the Danzi Center on Wednesday evening.

The Golden Eagles even out at 9-9 on the season and remain unbeaten in Skyline play improving to 4-0. The Privateers drop to 3-17 overall, 1-6 Skyline.

SJC led the match early with a 25-11 win in the opening set before completing the sweep with wins in sets two and three by scores of 25-16 and 25-10, respectively.

Sophomore Amanda Goldstein led the Golden Eagles with a match-high 11 kills while hitting at a .529 pace. Juniors Jessica Young and Brionna Silva pitched in with six kills apiece.

Silva also finished with a double-double of 27 assists and 10 digs. Senior libero Danielle Senecal and freshman Kayla Martin added seven digs each.

Celyna Custodio led the Privateers with five kills with Erika Kirchner finishing with four kills and eight assists. Abby Solomos picked up eight digs.

The Golden Eagles resume Skyline action to Tuesday, October 15 when they travel to take on the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
