Women's Volleyball Starts Skyline Play with 3-0 Win Over SJC-BK

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team opened up Skyline Conference play with a 3-0 win over St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn Wednesday evening in the Danzi Center.

The Golden Eagles improve to 2-8 on the season with a 1-0 conference mark. The Bears even out at 4-4, 1-1 Skyline.

SJC-LI jumped ahead 2-0 with 25-16, 25-17 wins in sets one and two. The Bears made a push late in set three, but the Golden Eagles held on for a 25-21 win.

Sophomore Amanda Goldstein led SJC-LI with 14 kills while hitting at a.393 clip. Junior Jessica Young pitched in with nine kills and sophomore Melanie O'Hoppe finished with six.

Junior Brionna Silva tossed a game-best 33 assists with senior libero Danielle Senecal scooping 15 digs.

Cristina Morales led the Bears with five kills and 17 digs. Setter Kaitlyn Intindola dished 17 assists.

The Golden Eagles return to the Danzi Center on Saturday, September 28 when they host Baruch College and Montclair St. Game times are set for 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.
