How it happened
-
It was St. Joseph's who looked to strike first when Alessandra Melendez took a shot into the bottom right corner of the goal that was sent away by Ripperger
-
Just five minutes later it was Esposito who crossed it into the box and found the head of Farrington where it would bounce off the top of the crossbar, to find Ramcke alone in front to head it in
-
After the Golden Eagles took the lead Merchant Marine looked to tie the game at one apiece when Kennedy Maddock sent one towards the bottom right of the net that caught the glove of Vahle keeping the game level
-
As the game was even to start the second half a shot by Marina Ronzoni in the 63rd minute hit the crossbar, followed by a shot from Faith Sammons that went over the goal out of play
-
As SJLI answered with some shots of their own that were kept away, it was Alexx Forman of USMMA who had the last good look to tie the game but a big save from Vahle sealed the victory for St. Joseph's
