The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's soccer team drops their first Skyline Conference matchup on Saturday.

  • Sophomore Kristin Vahle finished with a game-high seven saves while facing nine shots

  • Junior Emma Furey led the Golden Eagles with five shots and two shots on goal

  • Celina Schenk secured one goal and one assist in the match

  • Stephanie Alberghine of FSC recorded one goal 

How it happened
  • Farmingdale opened the scoring column at the 10-minute mark when Schenk found the back of the net off a pass from Alyse Rivera, to take a 1-0 lead

  • The Golden Eagles looked to tie the game at one, as Furey saw an opportunity that Kelsie Feingold sent away in goal to keep the Rams ahead by one

  • As the first half came close to an end the Rams saw a couple of chances sent away by Vahle, until Alberghine put one past to make it a two-goal advantage

  • In the first 12 minutes of action into the second half, SJLI's Brooke Esposito registered a shot low that again was sent away by the Rams

  • As the game came down to a close St. Joseph's collected many shots but were unable to capitalize on any as the FSC secured the victory, 2-0

  • Five yellow cards were issued in the match

  • Golden Eagles' three-game win streak comes to an end
