The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's basketball dropped an 89-48 exhibition contest against Stony Brook University at Island Federal Arena on Tuesday evening.

How it happened
● Freshman Justin Turner got the Golden Eagles off to a good start, drilling a three on St. Joseph's first possession
● A layup from Ryan McNeely and a triple from junior Xavier Allen gave the Golden Eagles an early 8-6 advantage
● A 7-2 run from the Seawolves starting at 15:00 gave the hosts a nine-point lead, 21-12
● M. Hirdt hit a three to end Stony Brook's scoring run, followed by seven consecutive points from Spencer Malloy to bring the Golden Eagles to within one, 23-22
● McNeely dropped in five points capping off a 12-2 scoring run that gave the Golden Eagles their largest advantage of the evening, 29-25
● After a Stony Brook timeout, the Seawolves went on a 21-4 run to take a 46-33 lead into the break
● The Seawolves dominated second-half play, scoring 43 points on 53.3% shooting while holding the Golden Eagles to just 15 for an 89-48 final score

● The Golden Eagles shot 46.7% from the field and 50% from three in the first half but were limited to just 20.7% from the floor and 21.4% from long distance in the second half
● The Seawolves shot 50% from the field and 45% from beyond the arc throughout the game
