Men's Basketball Garners Skyline Conference End of Season Awards

New York, NY| The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) men's basketball team saw a duo of end-of-season awards when the conference released its All-Conference teams on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior Xavier Allen was named to the All-Conference First Team, while junior Spencer Malloy landed on the All-Conference Second Team.

Allen, led the Golden Eagles on the year with a total of 425 points, averaging 17.0 points per game both of which were good for a team-high and fourth in the conference. The junior also placed top-10 in the conference and second on the team in rebounding averaging 7.8 a game, while recording 1.6 steals per game good for sixth in the conference. The guard is amongst the conference leaders in shooting percentage, shooting 42.1% from the field, and added 1.6 three-point field goals made shooting 36.0% from beyond the arc. 

The Mattituck, NY native garnered the Skyline Weekly Honor Roll on five occasions this season while being named Skyline Conference Player of the Week once. 

Malloy helped guide the Golden Eagles this season totaling 376 points while averaging 15.0 points per game good for fifth in the conference. The forward demonstrated his skills all over the court this season leading the conference in rebounding, averaging 8.9 rebounds per game, while also leading in field goal percentage shooting over 50.0% from the field. The junior also showed off his efforts on the court's defensive end, averaging 1.2 blocks per game for fourth in the conference. 

The Commack, NY native received recognition by being named to the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll twice while garnering a Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honors once.
