Women's Basketball Downs CCNY, 79-54

New York, NY| Sophomore Alyssa Signor dropped in 19 points in St. Joseph's College women's basketball's 79-54 win over City College of New York on Wednesday evening.

St. Joseph's picked up its first win of the season and improve 1-2 overall as the Beavers fall to 0-3.

Three additional Golden Eagles finished in double figures including freshmen Emma Lange and Margaret Kopcienski who scored 18 and 13 points, respectively.

Freshman Catherine Siounis rounded out the top scorers with a double-double of 16 points and a game-high 24 rebounds.

The Beavers were paced by a 26-point performance by Reilly Boehm who finished 10-for-12 at the free-throw line. Tianna Fumasoli was 7-for-17 from the field for 19 points.

After the Golden Eagles went into the break ahead by 10, 38-28, a closely played third quarter saw the Beavers chip slightly into SJC's lead.

St. Joseph's went on to hold the hosts to just four points in the fourth frame while going on to score 20 and come away with the 79-54 win.

The Golden Eagles shot 40.3% from the field while holding CCNY to just 25.0%. SJC was also dominated down low holding a 68-36 rebound advantage while outscoring the Beavers 42-18 in the paint.

SJC opens up Skyline Conference play on Saturday, November 23 when they travel to face SUNY Old Westbury at 12:00 pm
