Five Score in Double Digits in Women's Basketball's loss to SJC-Bklyn

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's basketball team dropped a 76-65 Skyline Conference contest to St. Joseph's College (Bklyn) in the Danzi Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles slip to 1-5 on the season with an 0-3 Skyline mark. The Bears improve to 4-3 overall, 3-0 Skyline.

All five starters for the Golden Eagles finished in double digits with freshman Catherine Siounis knocking down a team-best 14 points on 7-for-14 shooting.

Sophomore Alyssa Signor dropped in 13 points with sophomore Megan Steinman finishing with 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Freshmen Emma Lange and Julianna Knice recorded 10 points apiece with the latter finishing with seven rebounds and five assists.

Kelly O'Donnell led the Bears with 25 points on 9-for-17 shooting. Jamie Provino added 12 points, all coming from three-point range with Emma Kelly and Alexis Breen providing 11 points each.

Deserae Sequeira recorded a double-double of 16 rebounds and 14 assists.

SJCLI trailed by as many as 21 in the second quarter, but a 14-5 run closed out the frame to narrow the gap to just 12, 43-31, heading into the break.

The Golden Eagles had a strong start to the third quarter and pulled to within five, 48-43, but the Bears managed to keep their distance from the hosts and hold on for the 76-65 win.

The Golden Eagles resume Skyline Conference play on Tuesday, December 3 when they host the College of Mt. St. Vincent. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
