W. Soccer Falls to Farmingdale, 3-1

Patchogue, N.Y. — The Golden Eagles (4-9-2, 1-4 SKY) fell to the Farmingdale State Rams (10-4-2, 5-0 SKY) on Thursday night, dropping their fourth Skyline Conference game of the season with the 3-1 loss.

The Rams got on the board early with a successful shot from the top of the 18-meter only five minutes into the game. With the score still at 1-0 by the start of the second half, the Eagles came out strong looking to even the playing field with a tally of their own. The home team's efforts were unsuccessful however as the Rams would score two more goals by the 80th minute of the game.

SJC's Claire Brady (Center Moriches, N.Y./ Center Moriches), assisted by Joann Murino (Bohemia, N.Y./ Connetquot), was the first and only to score for her team less than eight minutes before the final buzzer, leading to a final score of 3-1.

While both teams were relatively comparable in possession and shots on goal, it was the Rams who were ultimately able to convert their opportunities to points. Katie McGarrell (Selden, N.Y./ Newfield) made seven saves for the Golden Eagles.

St. Joseph's will travel to Sarah Lawrence on Saturday as they work towards evening out their conference record in a 3 p.m. match.
