Women's Basketball Bounces Back with Win over Baruch

New York, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's basketball team came away with a 72-62 non-conference road win over Baruch College on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles improve to 7-3 on the season as the Bearcats slide to 2-5.

Senior Alyssa Signor finished with her fourth double-double in five games with 22 points and10 rebounds. Junior Alyssa Adomaites dropped in a team-best 23 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field with six boards, four assists, and three steals.

Mia Castillo led all players with a 34-point performance for the Bearcats with eight rebounds and, seven steals, four blocks, and four assists. Elissa Leung pitched in with nine points while dishing five assists.

The Golden Eagles led from start to finish with their largest lead following a three-pointer from Adomaites with 4:50 left in the third quarter, 58-36. Baruch outscored SJC 16-12 in the final frame, but the Golden Eagles held on ot secure the 10-point victory.

St. Joseph's finished shooing 41.2% (28-for-68) from the floor while holding Baruch to just 34.6% (27-for-78).

The Golden Eagles will break for the remainder of 2021 and will return to Skyline Conference play on Tuesday, January 4 when they host Farmingdale College at 7:00 pm.
