Women's Basketball Falls to Mt. St. Mary on Sunday

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's basketball team fell short to Mt. St. Mary College in the Danzi Center on Sunday evening.

The 95-64 loss puts the Golden Eagles to 10-6 on the season with a 7-6 Skyline mark. The Knights improve to 14-3 overall, 12-1 Skyline.

Freshman Felica Barreiros came off the bench to lead SJC with 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field. Senior Alyssa Signor finished with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Alyssa Adomaites pitched in with 11 points and Lanyah Ford rounded out to top scorers with 10 points and a team-best four assists.

MSMC's Morina Bojka knocked down a game-high 29 points on 10-for-19 shooing from the floor and completed the double-double with 15 boards. Katie Smith dropped in 15 points with Toriana Tabasco and Erin Smith adding 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Mt. St. Mary led from start to finish holding the Golden Eagles to shooting just 34.3% from the field while knocking down 44.3%. The Knights also held a 47.4% -30% edge from beyond the arc. MSMC proved strong down low outscoring SJC 42-28 in the paint while pulling down 56 rebounds to St. Joseph's 36.

The Golden Eagles return to the Danzi Center on Tuesday, February 1 when they host SUNY Purchase at 7:00 pm.
