Adomaites Claims Single-Season Points Record in Regular-Season Finale Win

Throggs Neck, NY| Junior Alyssa Adomaites captured the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) single-season points record courtesy of a three-pointer in the second quarter of a 74-57 win over Yeshiva University on Saturday night.

The Golden Eagles wrap up the regular season at 15-8 with a 12-8 conference mark. The Maccabees move to 7-15 overall, 5-15 Skyline.

Adomaites finished with 10 points on the night giving her 542 on the season knocking off Danielle Moore who held the top spot with 538 points since the 1997-98 season.

Sophomore Lanyah Ford led the Golden Eagles with 15 points on 6-for-12 shooting and completed the double-double with 13 rebounds while dishing six assists. Freshman Hailey Clancy added 12 points off the bench with freshman Brianna Cordell pitching in with nine points, eight boards, and three blocks.

The Maccabees were led by Daniella Bessler who finished with a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds. Yuval Nitzan finished with 11 points and six assists.

Yeshiva scored first in the second frame to take their final lead of the night, 18-17, before the Golden Eagles went on a 9-0 run for a 27-18 advantage. SJC surrendered just eight points in the second quarter and took a 44-24 lead into the break.

The Maccabees outscored the Golden Eagles 33-30 in the second half but St. Joseph's came away with the 74-57 win.

SJC finished shooting 44.8% from the field while holding the Maccabees to just 28.2%.

The Golden Eagles will enter the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament for the first time since the 2011-12 season as the #5 seed and will travel to face fourth-seeded Manhattanville on Tuesday, February 22 at 5:30 pm.
