Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's basketball team beat the SUNY Purchase Panthers, 91-29, in a Skyline Conference match-up at the Danzi Center on Tuesday evening.
The Golden Eagles snapped their two-game losing streak, improving to an 8-6 Skyline record and 11-6 overall. The Panthers drop to 1-13 in Skyline play and 1-16 overall.
Junior Alyssa Adomaites and freshman Brianna Cordell each scored 16 points to power the Golden Eagles. Senior Alyssa Signor recorded a double-double, adding 14 points and collecting a team-high 10 rebounds.
Freshman Isabella Sierra and junior Catherine Siounis contributed a combined 23 points and 13 rebounds off the bench for St. Joseph's.
Miya Ritchie scored nine points to lead the Panthers, while Jules Martinez collected a team-high 11 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles went on a 31-2 run in the first quarter to take a significant lead. They consistently held a comfortable advantage throughout the entire game, finishing the first half up 55-8 and scoring a total of 91 points.
Junior Margaret Kopcienski shot a three-pointer at the 5:14 mark in the third quarter for her first points of the season, extending the hosts' lead to 66-8.
St. Joseph's shot 48.7% from the field, while SUNY Purchase was limited to just a 17.5% shooting percentage.
