Brooke Esposito Named Skyline Offensive Player of the Week

New York, NY| Sophomore Brooke Esposito of the St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's soccer team was named Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Week as announced on Tuesday morning.

Additionally, junior Marissa Degni (women's soccer), junior Madison Gremli (women's volleyball), and senior Matt Lopez (men's cross country) landed on Weekly Honor Rolls in their respective sports.

Brooke Esposito (So.) - Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Esposito led the Golden Eagles in a 2-0-0 week with seven points on one goal and five assists. The forward scored one goal and dished out a career-best four assists in a win over SUNY Maritime and she added another assist in a 2-0 win over USMMA. Esposito currently leads the Skyline with eight assists, averaging 1.00 assists per game which is tied for fourth in the nation.

Marissa Degni (Jr.) - Women's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll

Degni powered the SJNY women to a third-place finish at the Golden Eagle Invitational on Friday afternoon. The junior set a new 5k program record at Bethpage State Park with a time of 20:03.4 and placed seventh. 

Madison Gremli (Jr.) - Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

In a 2-0 week for the women's volleyball team, Gremli led the team with 17 kills while hitting at a .385 clip. The junior added four digs and a block and averaged 2.33 kills-per-set. Gremli finished with a team-best nine kills while hitting .333 in a 3-0 sweep of Maritime.

Matt Lopez (Sr.) - Men's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll

The men also finished third at Friday's Golden Eagle Invitational. Lopez was fifth with an 8k time of 26:43.4.
