Cabanillas and Williams Receive Skyline Conference Honors

New York, NY| Sophomore Alison Cabanillas and freshman Ashlyn Williams were named Women's Swimmer and Rookie of the Week, respectively. when the Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Tuesday morning.

Additionally, junior Lanyah Ford was named to the Skyline Weekly Honor Roll and picked up Met Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Honorable Mention recognition.  

Alison Cabanillas (So.) - Women's Swimmer of the Week

Cabanillas broke SJLI's program record in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:57.64 at the ECAC Championships. The sophomore's time in the prelims of the 200-free of 2:11.00 was a season-best as was her time in the 100-free of 1:00.08.

Ashlyn Williams (Fr.) - Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week 

Williams turned in season-best performances in the 50-free with a time of 26.69 which lands fourth on the SJLI All-Time list. The freshman also finished in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:06.98 good for top 5 on the SJLI All-Time list. 

Lanyah Ford (Jr.) - Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll 

Ford led the Golden Eagles in a 2-0 conference week with 38 total points on 42.1% shooting from the field, averaging 19 points per game. The junior added 27 total rebounds averaging 13.5 rebounds per game while recording four assists and three steals. She dropped a game-best 18 points on 8-for-16 shooting with seven boards in a 47-44 win over Mt. St. Vincent. The guard followed that performance with a 20-point career-best 20-rebound performance with three steals in an overtime win over Mt. St. Mary
