Lorraine Podlesny Named Skyline Rookie of the Week, Four Others on Honor Rolls

New York, NY| Freshman Lorraine Podlesny of the St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's tennis team was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week as announced on Wednesday morning.

Additionally, sophomore Jackie Wolf (women's volleyball), junior Madison DiPalo (women's tennis), junior Marissa Degni (women's cross country), and senior Matt Lopez (men's cross country) landed on Weekly Honor Rolls in their respective sports.

Lorraine Podlesny (Fr.) - Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week

Podlesny won both matches against Mt. St. Mary on October 8th. The freshman secured wins at first singles (7-6, 6-2) and first doubles (8-5) in an 8-1 match victory. This is the second time Podlesny has been awarded Rookie of the Week.

Jackie Wolf (So.) - Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

Wolf finished the week with 37 total kills, averaging 2.85 kills per set. The sophomore also averaged 2.31 digs per set for a total of 30 digs. Additionally, Wolf had 10 service aces while recording a pair of blocks. The outside hitter led the Golden Eagles with 12 kills, hitting at a .256 clip against Merchant Marine.

Madison DiPalo (Jr.) - Women's Tennis Weekly Honor Roll

DiPalo picked up a pair of victories in the 8-1 victory over Mt. St. Mary last week. The junior was victorious at third singles and third doubles.

Marissa Degni (Jr.) - Women's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll

Degni finished 13th place with a 5k time of 19:27.0, also finishing as the second-highest DIII and Skyline runner. The women finished eighth at the Highlander XC Challenge, also the best-finishing DIII and Skyline team.

Matt Lopez (Sr.) - Men's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll

The men finished fifth at Saturday's Highlander XC Challenge. Lopez was 18th with an 8k time of 26:50.0 and the highest-placing NCAA Division III and Skyline Conference Team.
