Baseball Takes Two in Myrtle Beach

 

Myrtle Beach, SC| The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) baseball team picked up a pair of wins on day one of their trip to The Ripkin Experience on Thursday afternoon.

Game One:
SJLI 8; Mary Washington 2

Graduate student Hermes Abreu was 4-for-5 at the plate with and RBI and two runs scored to lead the Golden Eagles, who combined for 17 hits, to an 8-2 win over the University of Mary Washington in game one.

Senior starter Anthony Cinquemani tossed six shutout innings allowing just five hits with three strikeouts to claim his second win of the season.

Game Two:
SJLI 10; Cabrini 6

After trailing 6-3, a five-run bottom of the seventh highlighted by a two out, two RBI base hit off the bat of sophomore James Maggio put Golden Eagles ahead 8-6 before adding two runs in the eighth to secure the 10-6 win.

Sophomore Josh Dannenberg picked up his first win of the year striking out six without surrendering a hit 2.1 innings out of the pen.

St. Joseph's returns to action when the take on Neumann University in a twin bill Friday, March 3rd. Game times are set for 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
