The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team dropped their fifth straight contest with a 13-10 non-conference loss to Stevens Institute of Technology at Gregg Alfano Field on Monday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles trailed early surrendering five runs on five hits in the top first

St. Joseph's began to chip away putting up three runs in the bottom half of the inning. Krpata and Paul Gugliuzzo reached to start the inning and following a double steal, both runners came into score on a base hit to right by Giannico. Gianncio came in to score on a ground out to the right side a few batters later

The Golden Eagles used four hits and a pair of Stevens' errors to put together a five-run inning of their own in the bottom of the second to go ahead 8-5. Gugliuzzo, Joe Sanguedolce, and Vicino all had RBIs in inning

That lead was short-lived as the Ducks answered with a four-run top of the third to re-take the lead 9-8

After a scoreless fourth and fifth, the Ducks extended their lead in the top of the sixth, 12-8. Eli Somers started the inning with a double to left and came into score on a base hit through the right side by Johnny Albrecht. A walk to Kevin Villares put two runners on for Liam DeRubertis who brought them both in with a double to the right-center gap

The Golden Eagles cut the deficit to just two, 12-10, with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh

A solo shot to left off the bat of Stevens' Colby Ching added some insurance in the top of the ninth
