How it happened:
  • The Golden Eagles scored in the top of the first when Paul Gugliuzzo started the game with an infield single and then came in to score on a bases-loaded balk later in the inning

  • WPU came back with three runs in the bottom half of the inning courtesy of a two-RBI double from Dan Carter and an RBI single by Tom Radigan

  • After both sides pushed a run across in the eighth, 13-9, the Golden Eagles made some noise in the top of the ninth when Sanguedolce knocked in Hermes Abreu and Hackal with a double to left, but was left stranded when WPU's Dan Castaneda retired Krpata and Difilippo to end the game
