The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team snapped their 14-game win streak with a 13-10 non-conference loss at William Paterson University on Tuesday afternoon.

How it happened:

The Golden Eagles scored in the top of the first when Paul Gugliuzzo started the game with an infield single and then came in to score on a bases-loaded balk later in the inning

William Paterson responded with six runs in the bottom half of the inning by stringing together five hits paired with two SJLI errors

After pushing a run across in the second, RBIs from seniors Nick Vicino and John Thatcher in the third brought the Golden Eagles to within two, 6-4

Back-to-back RBI singles and a bases-loaded walk resulted in a three-run bottom of the fifth putting the Pioneers ahead 9-4

St. Joseph's put up a run in the sixth and two in the seventh bringing the visitors to within two, 9-7

WPU came back with three runs in the bottom half of the inning courtesy of a two-RBI double from Dan Carter and an RBI single by Tom Radigan

After both sides pushed a run across in the eighth, 13-9, the Golden Eagles made some noise in the top of the ninth when Sanguedolce knocked in Hermes Abreu and Hackal with a double to left, but was left stranded when WPU's Dan Castaneda retired Krpata and Difilippo to end the game
