Results:

The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) women's basketball team scored a season-high 93 points in a 93-34 win over SUNY Old Westbury in a Skyline conference match-up at the Danzi Center on Saturday afternoon.

Top performers:
  • Four Golden Eagles finished with double-digit points, with senior Alyssa Adomaites and freshman Emma Kelly tied for the team lead with 14 points each
  • Sophomores Hailey Clancy and Isabella Sierra both finished with 10 points apiece
  • Sophomore Felicia Barreiros pitched in nine points, freshman Megan Spina scored eight, and sophomore Hannah Greene added seven
  • Sierra Rowe led all players with 17 points for Old Westbury
  • Allysha Thomas collected a game-high 10 rebounds for the Panthers
How it happened:
  • Old Westbury took a quick 4-0 lead, then the Golden Eagles seized an 8-6 lead on a pair of threes for senior Julianna Knice
  • St. Joseph's went on a 9-2 run to finish the quarter up 17-10
  • SJLI went on a 23-4 run during the first five minutes of the second quarter. Spina's layup at the 4:38 mark capped the run to make it a 40-14 game
  • The Golden Eagles finished the half up 44-18, with Greene scoring seven points in the quarter
  • St. Joseph's continued to dominate play, as junior Lanyah Ford's four-point play at the 5:30 mark capped a 12-3 run to begin the third quarter to increase the lead to 56-21
  • SJLI finished the third frame ahead 64-26, then the hosts scored the first 11 points of the fourth quarter which featured three, three-point shots to go ahead 75-26
  • The Golden Eagles made four more three-pointers in the quarter, with two coming from Barrerios, one from Senior Margaret Kopcienski, and one from Sierra to power a 29-point quarter
  • St. Joseph's took their largest lead of the afternoon on a pair of made free-throws for Kelly at the 1:59 mark in the final quarter to increase their lead to 61 (93-32) before finishing the game with a 93-34 victory

  • St. Joseph's 29 assists breaks the program record
  • SJLI shot 46.7% (35-for-75) from the field and 43.8% (14-for-32) from three-point territory
  • Old Westbury was limited to a 27.1% (16-for-59) shooting percentage from the field and 0% (0-for-11) from beyond the arc
  • The Golden Eagles went 7-for-9 (77.8%) from three-point range in the fourth quarter
  • St. Joseph's had 17 bench points in the first half, and 56 overall
  • The Panthers were limited to eight points in each of the final three-quarters of the game
