The first quarter saw the Mariners jump out to an early lead, with a 13-4 run in the first five minutes of action, which was halted by a three-point shot from Spina

USMMA would again pull ahead by as much as 13 but a late three-pointer from Knice would bring SJLI to within 10

The Golden Eagles would start the second quarter behind but with a 10-5 run midway through the second quarter they would bring the lead to within five

The Mariners would respond with a scoring run themselves by outsourcing St. Joseph's 12-2 in the final five minutes of the first half

The second half opened up with both teams trading baskets but would soon see USMMA pull ahead by 24 points with two minutes left in the third quarter

Adomaites would go on to score the last six points in the final two minutes of the quarter to bring the Golden Eagles to within 20
