Five Golden Eagles Score in Double Figures to Top Farmingdale St.

Results:

The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) women's basketball team saw four Golden Eagles score in double figures to help achieve a 74-52 victory over Farmingdale St. on Wednesday night.  

Top performers:
  • Senior Alyssa Adomaites finished with a game-high 19 points with three rebounds and three steals 

  • Junior Lanyah Ford pitched in with 10 points to go along with a game high eight rebounds 

  • Freshman Megan Spina contributed 11 points and five rebounds 

  • Senior Catherine Siounis went 5-7 from the field to finish with 10 points and 6 rebounds 

  • Freshman Emma Kelly added 10 points and six rebounds 

  • Senior Julianna Knice dished out a game high five assists and also recorded six rebounds and three steals

  • Farmingdale was led by Tiffany Sosa and Adrianna Romo-Leroux  who scored 14 and 10 points, respectively 

How it happened: 
  • SJLI would pull ahead early in the first quarter by going on a 10-0 run with Ford scoring six of the 13 points 

  • The Golden Eagles would again start the second quarter strong scoring the first 10 points of the quarter 

  • St. Joseph's defense would hold strong in the first half only allowing 15 points to the Rams 

  • Adomaites provided the offensive spark for St. Joseph's in the third quarter scoring 11 points and shooting 5-6 from the field 

  • Farmingdale had their best scoring quarter of the game by dropping 21 points in the third quarter

  • The Rams outscored the Golden Eagles 16-15 in the fourth quarter     

Notes: 
  • The Golden Eagles shot 43.2% from the field while holding the Rams to just 32.8%

  • SJLI held a 51 to 38 rebounding edge over the Rams

  • The largest lead of the game was 29 points held by St. Joseph's 

  •  The Golden Eagles bench scored 21 points compared to the Rams 11
